The REFACO Orphanage
REFACO, or Remembered Families in the Community, is a registered community based organisation with the Ministry of Gender, Sports, Culture & Social Services, under the Kenyan government. Refaco is located in Nairobi, Kenya and is dependant entirely on gifts and donations to operate.

Just some of the life changing REFACO Initiatives:
Our Orphanage
Provides a home for orphans who have lost their parents to HIV/Aids and other diseases. Already our orphanage is at capacity because the need is so great. Mukuru-Sinai is one of the peri- urban slum areas inhabited by the poorest people living in Nairobi, Kenya. REFACO has been running a school for orphaned children and extremely impoverished children within this community.
Our School
Our school has received an unprecedented demand to accommodate more needy children. This has resulted in an increase from 146 students to 264 students in attendance in 2011.
Among these 264 children, 50 of these children are HIV/Aids orphaned children who rely entirely on REFACO for the necessities of life. We project an increase in demand to educate 500 children in the very near future.

Our Health Care Services
REFACO provides healthcare to underprivileged children in the Nairobi community.
- General medicine and first aid
- Hospital expenses for our children
- Funeral expenses for families in the community
Our Feeding Programme
REFACO provides food to underprivileged children in the Nairobi community. We currently provide 264 underprivileged children with two meals every school day and every Saturday, that being breakfast and dinner. REFACO realised these children were literally malnourished and starving.
